What better way to kick off the new year than with the fantastic new functionalities of the NP Retail solution? We’re thrilled to announce that on 28 January 2024, our product team rolled out the latest iteration of the NP Retail solution — NP Retail Version 30.0.

In this release, our primary focus was on enhancing the bin transfer processes, creating QR codes for use as digital receipts on the POS after the sale has been concluded, and implementing e-invoices to streamline real-time communication with relevant tax authorities. Let’s delve into the specific details of these exciting new features.

1. Digital receipts: Scan the QR code with your smartphone, and voilà!

This new feature empowers retail businesses to embrace digital receipts, offering a sustainable alternative or complement to traditional paper receipts. Beyond its environmental benefits, this feature significantly enhances user convenience, marking a pivotal step in their digital transformation journey.

With a simple press of a button, our system swiftly generates a QR code on the POS system right after a purchase. It’s only necessary to scan the QR code using a smartphone, and voilà! Your digital receipt will appear instantly on the screen. On the other hand, customers enjoy the flexibility of reviewing their receipts at their own pace. Moreover, they can effortlessly save their proof of payment as a convenient PDF file on their phone for quick access or securely store it in Google Wallet.

Our restaurant module also seamlessly integrates digital receipts, enabling waitstaff to smoothly display QR codes on their tablets for customer service. This forward-thinking approach eliminates the need for paper receipts, delivering a more eco-friendly and efficient dining experience.

2. E-invoices: Real-time communication with the relevant tax authorities in Hungary

E-invoices provided by Multisoft facilitate real-time communication with the relevant tax authorities in Hungary. Now, a sales order can be created from a POS and issued to a customer in the form of an invoice.

NaviPartner consistently works towards aligning its cloud-based POS solution with the local regulations of a growing list of countries. E-invoices are a part of the initiative to make NP Retail fully compliant with Hungarian market laws.

3. Bin transfer improvements: Optimizing Bin Transfer processes for improved efficiency

Upon executing the ‘Transfer Out action from one POS unit to another, a new line will automatically append to the ‘POS Payment Bin Transfer Journal. Following the completion of the transaction, and when the ‘Transfer In action is initiated on the designated POS unit, the validation of the transfer journal line is all that is required, eliminating the necessity to populate any additional fields.

The intermediary bin, facilitating both inbound and outbound transfer transactions, plays a pivotal role in this process. The specification of this bin is crucial and should be entered into the newly introduced ‘In-Transfer Bin Code field located within the administrative section of the ‘POS End of Day/Bin Tr. Profile Card in Business Central.

The ‘POS End of Day Profile’ has been renamed to ‘POS End of Day/Bin Tr. Profile’. This updated profile includes new options for configuring the ‘Bank Deposit Reference’ and the move to ’Bin Transfer ID’. Users now have the option to set the ‘Bin Transfer ID’ automatically using a No. Series or manually. Additionally, the profile provides the option to require a ‘POS Payment Bin Transfer Journal line for ‘Transfer In.
