Imagine the following scenario: You’re managing a busy store, juggling multiple payment methods, and trying to keep track of every transaction. The chaos of mismatched dates, discrepancies, and incomplete data is enough to make anyone’s head spin. Now imagine a world where all these challenges are effortlessly managed, where payments are seamlessly processed, inventory is never a problem, and every financial detail is perfectly reconciled.
As a company dedicated to developing IT solutions for the retail industry, we understand that enhancing the shopping experience is not just about improving customer satisfaction but also about making life easier for retailers. Our mission is to empower retailers with cutting-edge technology that streamlines their daily operations, allowing them to focus entirely on their customers. By providing flexible options for purchasing, payment, and delivery, we ensure that both retailers and their customers have a seamless and satisfying experience.
In this blog, we’ll dive into three features of our NP Pay solution that exemplify this commitment:
- Pay by link
- Endless aisle
- Payment reconciliation
1. From link to payment: Send a payment link and get paid instantly
If you’ve ever wondered what Pay by Link is, we’ll tell you it’s exactly what it sounds like. The Pay by Link feature enables businesses to streamline and simplify the payment process by allowing customers to make secure online payments through a direct link, whether the sale is initiated via phone, chat, or email. It sounds incredibly simple, and believe us, it truly is – in practice.
To give you a better understanding of how this payment option can be a practical, secure, and flexible way to handle online payments, here are a few scenarios where Pay by Link is commonly used:
Phone and email orders:
When customers order products or services over the phone or via email, Pay by Link allows for a quick and easy payment process by sending a link. This link directs them to a secure page where they can enter their details and complete the payment.
Upselling opportunities:
Pay by Link is perfect for situations where changes and adjustments to orders are needed. For instance, if an order was created via the usual e-commerce checkout but the final amount increases due to additional requests made over a call, the updated amount can be conveniently handled using Pay by Link.
Invoicing and bill payments:
Companies often send invoices with integrated Pay by Link options, enabling clients to quickly and easily pay their bills online.
On-site service payments:
Service workers, delivery personnel, and other professionals can use Pay by Link to collect payments directly from clients in the field using mobile devices.
Temporary sales campaigns:
In situations where temporary sales or promotional campaigns are organized, Pay by Link enables the quick setup of payment systems without the need for e-commerce integrations.
There are certainly more examples of how Pay by Link can be used in practice, but now we’ll show you how this functionality works within our NP Pay solution: On any sales order inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, you can generate a payment link and choose to send it via email or SMS to your customer. With a single click on the link, the customer accesses the payment form and swiftly concludes the transaction within moments, resulting in a payment reservation on the sales order, just like an e-commerce payment!

2. Never leave empty-handed: How Endless Aisle expands your shopping options
And once again, we ask you to use your imagination. Imagine you’re a customer walking into a store, only to find out that the item you’ve been eagerly searching for is out of stock or not usually carried. Frustrating, right? But what if you could still get that item, and not leave empty-handed? With the Endless Aisle functionality, this is now possible.
The Endless Aisle functionality allows a store to offer customers the ability to access and purchase items that are not physically in stock. This means that even if a product is unavailable or not typically carried by the store, customers can still order it from the retailer’s extended inventory. This broadens the range of shopping options, ensuring customers can find and buy what they want, even if it’s not on the store shelves.
The NP Pay Endless Aisle functionality converts a POS sale, which can include out-of-stock items, into a sales order. During this process, the shopper must make a payment reservation using their credit or debit card. They can select from several shipment fees that are predefined at the store level and have the option to update their shipping information if necessary. The payment is not captured until the sales order has been posted.

3. From chaos to control: How NP Pay simplifies payment reconciliation
Struggling with discrepancies, mismatched payout dates across different payment methods, or incomplete metadata on your bank statements? If you’re not feeling the frustration, your bookkeepers definitely are!
For businesses of all types, including retail, financial accuracy and accountability are crucial. The sheer number and diversity of transactions that companies handle daily add complexity to the financial landscape. Payment reconciliation is a critical tool for managing this complexity. It acts as a guide, helping businesses verify the accuracy of financial records, ensure compliance, and make informed decisions. Here are some key reasons why payment reconciliation is vital for businesses: identifying errors and discrepancies, preventing fraud, enhancing cash flow management, ensuring precise financial reporting, optimizing operational efficiency, and supporting budgeting and forecasting, among many other benefits. Besides safeguarding a business against errors and potential fraud, payment reconciliation lays the groundwork for strategic, data-driven decision-making, compliance, and trust-based relationships with stakeholders.
With our NP Pay solution, you can now effortlessly reconcile payments across all your channels: ecommerce, physical terminals, software terminals, and pay-by-link. Reconciliation involves verifying and matching transactions processed through NP Pay’s payment platform with the corresponding entries in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, followed by an automatic posting of payout amounts on the configured bank accounts in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. This process ensures accuracy and consistency between the payment data and the financial data recorded in both systems and means your received transaction payments in the bank will automatically reconcile inside Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. It eliminates all the daily maintenance work, leaving only those few discrepancies found automatically, to be dealt with by a staff member.
